Whether you are looking for life, critical illness or disability insurance portfolio4less.com can offer you all these and we will work hard to find you the best possible insurance quote for your specific needs. Being independent ensures that we are able to provide you with access to the most competitive rates from many of Canada 's largest insurers.

Life Insurance

There are three type of life insurance you can choose from. They are:

Term Life Insurance: Term life insurance is one of the most popular forms of coverage that allows you to purchase large amounts of protection at lower rates than their counterparts Whole Life and Universal Insurance. Term insurance is ideal for those who need protection for a certain period of time and a specific amount. Most term insurance policy's run till between the age of 65-75.

Whole Life Insurance: Permanent life insurance (also known as Whole Life Insurance) remains in force for the whole of the policyholder's lifetime. The premium amount can be paid up over 20 years, until age 65, or to age 100. There are two whole life insurance products available:

Non Participating Whole Life: A non-participating whole life policy has a level premium and face amount during your entire life. The advantages of such a policy are its fixed costs and relatively low out-of-pocket premium payments. Since the policy is non-participating it does not pay you any dividends.

Participating Whole Life: A participating whole life policy pays dividends. The dividends represent the favourable experience of the company and result from excess investment earnings, favourable mortality and expense savings. Dividends can be paid in cash, used to reduce your premium payments, left to accumulate at a specified rate of interest or used to purchase paid-up additional insurance which will increase your face amount of coverage. Dividends are not guaranteed to be paid to you.

Universal Life Insurance: Universal life insurance is the most flexible life insurance available today. You can customize your plan when you buy it, or easily make changes later on. And universal life offers you the opportunity for tax-advantaged investing. This gives you the chance to increase your wealth by investing money within your policy. Depending on the plan, cash values can accumulate and grow tax free much like an RRSP. Withdrawals are subject to tax but unlike an RRSP, death benefits are tax free.

Critical Illness Insurance

Critical illness can be one of the most devestating situations a family has to deal with in their life time. Not only are you dealing with emotional stress, but the financial stress can be even more debilitating.

Critical illness plans offer you ability to purchase insurance to cover these situations by providing a lump sum payment which the beneficiary/policy holder can use any way they wish to. Dependant on the company you use critical illness insurance can cover some of these critical illnesses:

  • Life Threatening Cancer
  • Heart Attack
  • Strokes
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Major Organ Transplants and many more

Disability Insurance

Disability insurance is a form of insurance that protects the beneficiary's earned income against the risk that a disability makes earning a living impossible. As much as we like to pretend accidents and illnesses wont happen to us, it's important to ensure that household income maintains if you are physically not able to work.
